چکیده

Prickly sida (Sida spinosa), hemp sesbania (Sesbania herbacea), and pitted morningglory (Ipomoea lacunose) are becoming problematic weeds in many crops including corn soybean. Two separate field experiments, under non-crop conditions, were conducted at the Mississippi State University Delta Research Extension Center, Stoneville, MS to evaluate response of these eight selective herbicides three non-selective alone or combination. The used Aatrex (atrazine), Clarity (dicamba), 2,4-D (2,4-D amine), Callisto (mesotrione), Enlist Duo choline + dicamba), Capreno (thiencarbazone tembotrione), Corvus isoxaflutole), Halex GT (mesotrione S-metolachlor glyphosate), Gramoxone (paraquat), Liberty (glufosinate), Roundup (glyphosate). provided only 86% prickly side control 4-wks after application (WAA). treatments 99.5% control. Liberty, Callisto, Capreno, 71, 66, 51, 46% sida, respectively. Hemp was 100% from all herbicide applications except Roundup. not satisfactory since this treatment 72% By 4 WAA, 97 on (72 75%). management program should be able provide acceptable weed (i.e., greater than 95%) but also prevent seed deposition onto soil seedbank. Consequently, delaying evolution resistance will result technology preservation for as long possible by achieving a long-term program.

MSMA Antagonizes Glyphosate and Glufosinate Efficacy on Broadleaf and Grass Weeds

Field and greenhouse studies were conducted to investigate the compatibility of MSMA in a tank mixture with glyphosate or glufosinate for broadleaf and grass weed control. Glyphosate, glufosinate, and MSMA were evaluated at 0.53, 13, and 23 rates, with 13 rates of 0.84 kg ae/ha, 0.5 kg ai/ha, and 2.2 kg ai/ha, respectively. Glyphosate and glufosinate provided similar levels of control for most ...

Weed Control and Cotton Response to Combinations of Glyphosate and Trifloxysulfuron1

Greenhouse and field studies were conducted to evaluate potential interactions between glyphosate and trifloxysulfuron on barnyardgrass, browntop millet, hemp sesbania, seedling john songrass, pitted morningglory, prickly sida, sicklepod, and velvetleaf control as well as cotton injury and yield. In the greenhouse, glyphosate at 840 g ae/ha controlled all weed species 62 to 99%, which was bett...

Possible glyphosate tolerance mechanism in pitted morningglory (Ipomoea lacunosa L.).

Natural tolerance of Ipomoea lacunosa to glyphosate has made it problematic in the southeastern U.S. since the adoption of glyphosate-resistant crops. Experiments were conducted to determine (i) the variability in tolerance to glyphosate among accessions, (ii) if there is any correlation between metabolism of glyphosate to aminomethylphosponic acid (AMPA) or sarcosine and the level of tolerance...

Biochemical and Ultrastructural Changes in Sida cordifolia L. and Catharanthus roseus L. to Auto Pollution

Auto pollution is the by-product of our mechanized mobility, which adversely affects both plant and human life. However, plants growing in the urban locations provide a great respite to us from the brunt of auto pollution by absorbing the pollutants at their foliar surface. Foliar surface configuration and biochemical changes in plant species, namely, Sida cordifolia L. and Catharanthus roseus ...
